In cases where rampant cavities, periodontal disease, malnutrition or reactions to certain drugs are evident, it can be necessary to extract all remaining upper and lower teeth and provide the patient with dentures. Immediate dentures are placed the same day that your natural teeth are removed. When a patient has teeth extracted and dentures placed, they will have some initial swelling and then shrinking of the gums over for the next 8-10 months as they heal. During the healing process we will see you for a series of appointments for adjustments and soft liners until your healing is complete. At that point, the final touches are put on your dentures for the best fit possible.
